This project is a timber research center located in Eureka, California, a region closely tied to forestry, material production, and wood innovation. The building brings together research, testing, and public engagement through spaces dedicated to experimentation, education, and exhibition focused on timber construction. Organized as a series of angular, interlocking mass-timber volumes, the architecture expresses structural logic, material assembly, and load transfer, allowing the building itself to operate as a full-scale research artifact. Vertical and diagonal circulation connects multiple levels, encouraging interaction between researchers, visitors, and students, while exposed timber surfaces and carefully placed openings highlight the tactile qualities of wood and introduce controlled natural light throughout the interior.
