Fort Hunter

Located along the riverbank in Fort Hunter, New York, this project functions as a visitor center and observation tower for Erie Canal visitors. The building is composed of a series of distinctly shaped volumes, each form generated from abstractions of the Erie Canal’s river blueprint.

The program includes a café, classroom, information center, workshop, and office spaces. The surrounding landscape emerges from the architecture itself, with the walls of the volumes extending outward to shape paths, edges, and outdoor spaces across the site.
